A meal planner for one person: plan, shop and cook for yourself without family-size waste
Amamable works just as well for a single person: pick 1 to 14 days, get a plan and one shopping list, cook one step at a time. Free, no family account needed, with your own allergen filter.

Most meal planners assume a table of four. Amamable works just as well when the table is for one: you pick the days, get a plan, one shopping list, and cook it step by step. Here is how it works for someone living alone, what you need to set up, and what it costs.
Do you need a family account?
No. A family account is an optional premium feature for up to 6 people who share a plan and shopping lists. If you cook for yourself, you use Amamable with a normal account, and everything you need for planning is free with no time limit.
Plan only the days you actually cook
You tick the days and Amamable builds a plan for 1 to 14 days. Cooking for yourself usually means a few evenings, not a full week, so you can plan just those. The plan comes from a predictable algorithm, not a language model: it reaches for dishes you liked first, then your own recipes, then ready-made dishes from the Amamable Chefs catalogue, and it does not repeat a dish while there is something else to choose from. How that works in detail is explained in How the meal plan works.
One serving per person
When the app has no calorie need on file for you, it plans one serving per person, so for a household of one you get one serving. If you give the health-data consent, ingredient quantities and the shopping list scale to your calorie need, and the newest weight measurement you log recalculates the planned portions from the next day. In cooking mode the ingredients are scaled to the number of servings you choose.
One shopping list, no guessing
The ingredients from all the days you pick merge into one list: the same product is one item and the amounts add up. The list has two views. "Aisles" groups items by store section, which makes a quick shop faster, and "Dishes" shows what each recipe needs and on which day. The list works offline. If you buy groceries online, the premium shopping agent can add the items to your cart in a supported store in Poland, Germany, France or Romania; you log in, check the cart and pay yourself.
Use what is already in the fridge
Take a photo of the fridge or a cupboard and Amamable recognises which products are there, never how much. It then shows your recipes that use them, or lets you tick off on the shopping list what you already have. Nothing is stored.
Your own allergens and recipes
The plan filters the allergens you mark, covering the 14 EU allergens. The filter relies on the allergens marked on recipes and does not replace reading the label on a package. You can add your own recipes, import them from Instagram posts, websites, photos and PDFs, or take dishes from the Amamable Chefs catalogue.
Cook one step at a time
Cooking mode shows one step in large type, detects timers from the step text and keeps the screen awake, so your phone works as a recipe stand.
Questions and answers
Is there a meal planner for one person?
Yes. Amamable plans meals for any number of people, including one. You choose the days, get a plan with one serving per person and one shopping list for those days.
Do I have to pay to plan meals just for myself?
No. Meal planning, shopping lists, the meal calendar and the allergen filter are free with no time limit. Premium adds unlimited AI calls, the shopping agent and a family account, none of which you need for planning for one.
Can I plan just a few days instead of a whole week?
Yes. You can plan anything from 1 to 14 days, and you tick the days yourself.
How does Amamable take my allergies into account when I live alone?
You mark the allergens you exclude, out of the 14 EU allergens, and dishes containing them do not make it into the plan. The filter relies on the allergens marked on recipes and does not replace reading the label on a package.
