Ready meals instead of starter packs
You no longer have to pick starter packs when you sign up. The ready-made recipes we add are waiting in the Recipes tab, and one tap on the heart makes a dish yours.
Until now, a new Amamable account started with a choice of starter packs — sets of recipes that went straight into your collection. It worked, but it had two drawbacks: you had to decide before you had seen a single dish, and dozens of recipes landed in your collection at once, some of which you would never need.
That's why we have replaced starter packs with Ready meals.
What changes when you sign up
The welcome is shorter: the step for choosing packs is gone. In its place you see a single message: Recipes are already waiting. While your collection is still empty, your meal plan is built from ready meals — you don't have to pick anything in advance.
Where to find Ready meals
In the Recipes tab, in the top corner, there is a Ready meals button. It opens a catalogue of recipes that we prepare and test together with Amamable chefs. The Mine button takes you back to your own collection.
You can filter the catalogue with a single tap:
- All — the whole catalogue,
- Liked — dishes you have marked with a heart,
- Planned — dishes that are already in your plan.
How a dish becomes yours
Either of these will do:
- tap the heart — the dish goes into your recipes,
- tap + and choose when and for which meal to plan it.
Each dish is added to your collection only once, and removing it from the plan doesn't remove it from your recipes. From then on you can edit it like any recipe of your own.
What about recipes from starter packs?
Nothing disappears. Starter pack recipes you already have stay in your collection and are marked as liked.
Ready meals already work in the browser version of Amamable, and they arrive in the phone app with the latest version. To see how to turn them into a plan and a shopping list, read our guide How Amamable works.
