# Amamable

> Amamable is a meal planner and shopping list app for busy families (iOS and Android). You tick the days, it builds a weekly menu from your own recipes (or ready-made starter packs), merges every ingredient into one shopping list, filters out the allergens of everyone in the household, and guides you through cooking step by step. Planning uses no AI: the same user and the same date always give the same plan.

Made in Poland by an independent developer. The website and app interface are available in 21 languages: Polish, English, German, French, Italian, Romanian, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, Croatian, Slovenian, Albanian, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish and Ukrainian.

- Meal planning: plans for 1-14 days built by a deterministic algorithm (seeded rotation), not by a language model.

- Allergens: a hard filter covering the 14 EU allergens (Regulation 1169/2011). In a family the allergens of all members add up, so the plan avoids anything anyone at the table cannot eat.
- Recipes: your own recipes, starter packs by the Amamable Chefs, and import from Instagram posts, websites, photos and PDFs (AI only transcribes the recipe and never sets allergens).
- Cooking mode: one step at a time in large type, timers detected from the step text, ingredients scaled to your servings, screen stays awake.
- Family: the premium member creates a family; others join with a code for free and share recipes, the plan and shopping lists.
- Restaurant mode: small kitchens and caterers can switch the account to a daily-menu mode with portions counted as dishes to prepare.
- Privacy: account deletion directly in the app; no card details stored by Amamable.

Q: Is Amamable free?
A: Yes. Meal planning, shopping lists, the meal calendar, the allergen filter and list sharing are free with no time limit. Every account also gets 10 free AI calls for recipe import and photo inventory. Premium unlocks unlimited AI calls, a family account for up to 6 people, and a 30-day free trial on the yearly plan.

Q: How does meal planning work?
A: You tick which days you want to plan, pick the number of servings, and Amamable builds a menu from your own recipes using a deterministic rotation algorithm. No AI is involved in planning: the same user and the same date always produce the same plan. You can swap any meal before confirming.

Q: How does the shopping list work?
A: Once you confirm a plan, Amamable merges the ingredients of all planned meals into one shopping list with unit normalisation (e.g. 200 g + 300 g = 500 g of flour). Lists work offline and can be shared with family members in real time.

Q: How does the allergen filter work?
A: You mark allergens for each person in the household. Amamable covers all 14 EU allergens from Regulation 1169/2011 (gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, etc.). When planning, any recipe containing a flagged allergen is automatically excluded. In a family, all members' allergens add up.

Q: Can I import my own recipes?
A: Yes. You can import recipes from Instagram posts, websites (any URL with a recipe), photos of a dish or a cookbook page, and PDFs. The AI reads and structures the recipe text; allergens are never set by AI.

Q: Does Amamable work for restaurants or caterers?
A: Yes. In Settings you can switch to Restaurant mode, which changes the interface to a daily-menu planner with portions counted as dishes to prepare.

Q: Which countries and languages are supported?
A: The app interface is available in 21 languages. Ingredient dictionaries (for smart shopping list merging and nutrition data) are available for Poland, United Kingdom, Germany, France and Romania, with more countries being added. The app works in any country.

Q: Is there a web version?
A: Yes. The full web client at https://amamable.com/app/ works in any modern browser, no install needed. It shares data with the mobile app via the same account.
